Applying for passport
To apply online, you need to have:

following documents:

of the applicant in color and size (size is 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm)

step is to submit it. Once you log in, you will be provided with a ‘Submit
Application’ button on your dashboard which can be used to submit your passport
application.

uploaded with their respective barcodes (if required). Uploading supplementary
documents is optional but not mandatory for applicants who are applying for
passports for themselves or their children below 5 years of age.

sub-passport offices (SPOs). Your appointment will be displayed on our portal
under 'Passport Status' after payment has been made successfully. You may also

On the final page of the form, you will be asked to pay for

Once you make payment, a scheduled appointment will be
generated automatically and displayed on your screen. This is an important

You can pay the fee for passport application either online
or offline.
If you are applying for a passport and have been given an
appointment at the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK), you will not be required to pay
any fee.
If not, then you need to pay Rs 1,000 for a normal-sized
passport and Rs 2,000 for a large-size one.
The fee can be paid through debit cards or credit cards that
are accepted by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI).
Upload documents
After you have completed the online application form, you
will be asked to upload documents and biometric details.

passport size photographs (must be in JPEG format)
● Scan
copies of the following supporting documents:
a. Proof of identity (passport or voter ID card)
b. Proof of address (any government-issued photo ID card or
bill/bank statement with your name and address on it).
Review Application Details
After filling the form and uploading your documents, it is
time to review the details of your application. Here are some things you should
look out for:
● Check
the information you entered. Did you fill in all required fields? Did any of
your answers change from earlier? Did you misspell anything?
● Check
that all required documents have been uploaded successfully. If not, upload
them again or submit an alternate document as per specified requirements of
passport authorities.

your fees paid and make sure they're correct before making payment in case
there was a problem with funds being deducted incorrectly or not at all (this
can happen if there were issues with incorrect bank account details provided).
● Confirm when and where exactly will be your appointment date and time after
receiving an email notification about this from the service provider (this will

The receipt will have the application number, date of
application and reference number. It also has payment details. The receipt
